About Billy Moffat

A smiling man with long hair and a beard holding a bass guitar on stage.

I spent over 20 years on tour—playing more than 2,500 live shows across 20+ countries as the original bassist for One Night of Queen. (We earned a multi-platinum ticket award and even outranked Paul McCartney in Ticketmaster’s top 10 rock shows in France).

I’ve played festivals, theatres, sold-out arenas, appeared on TV programs and have been on the same bill as legends like Gloria Gaynor, Billy Ocean, The Human League, Escala, and more.

But I didn’t come from a musical family or study music theory at school. I taught myself guitar, learned by ear. and I’ve played that way ever since. No sheet music. No shortcuts. Just time served and no B.S.

For years, I worked 12-hour shifts in a corrugated cardboard factory in Scotland, gigging in pubs and clubs on the side. I had a few near-breaks, but they fell through when bandmates didn’t share the same dream.
I had resigned myself to the fact I’d spend the rest of my life in that factory. I was close to giving it all up…

…then someone reached out unexpectedly and offered me a shot. What was meant to be a few months on the road turned into two decades of international touring.

Large concert venue filled with an audience watching a stage illuminated with blue lights, and a large screen displaying an advertisement for the musical 'One Night of Queen' with an image of a singer holding a microphone and row of tickets.

These days, life looks different. I’ve got a wonderful wife and a wee baby boy at home. But the fire to perform never left. I’m ready for the next chapter…

Hitting the big stage again.
